Celebrating achievement across our schools: Spring 1 round-up
As we head into the new half-term, a quick re-cap of Spring 1 highlights from across the Trust.
Five Trust schools were congratulated by Department for Education Secretary of State, Bridget Phillipson for their excellent outcomes for disadvanted children in 2024-5. Well done to Chesterton Primary, Chestnut Grove Academy, Fircroft Primary, Norbury High School for Girls and Paxton Academy Theresa Moses
Children at Kensington Avenue Primary have been learning vital life skills such as navigating public transport, basic first aid and fire safety with the help of London Fire Brigade Metropolitan Police and Transport for London
Hellingly Community Primary have continued their collaborative work with the Department for Education PINS project (Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools) working with their school community to understand and improve support for neurodivergent children. Their new parent carer groups have been well attended and staff have had further training on understanding children’s experiences in school to help improve the classroom environment.
Norbury High School for Girls have co-ordinated a huge fundraising drive across Croydon schools to support those affected by Hurricane Melissa, raising an impressive £10,000 alongside multiple donations of vital supplies.
A massive team effort at Thomson House School Jackie Sanders has resulted in the school achieving their UNICEF Silver Rights Respecting Award.
Early Career Teacher (ECT) training run by our Wandle Teaching School Hub ranked the highest nationally in the last set of ECT feedback.
