Thomson House School
Message from Headteacher Jackie Sanders
Thomson House School is a unique school - full of vibrant children, dedicated staff and supportive parents. Whilst Ofsted recognised us as an ‘outstanding’ school, we are so much more than that single word implies – our results speak for themselves. THS has recently joined Wandle Learning Trust, recognising in the Trust a similar drive for excellence in all that they do.
At Thomson House, we strive to prepare our children for life in the 21st Century – ensuring that, by the time they leave us, they have accrued some key personal qualities: confidence, resilience, eloquence, able to work collaboratively, strong communication skills and with a global perspective. Our children are intellectually curious, socially responsible and care for the environment in which they live.
Our school values of curiosity, kindness and courage weave through all areas of school life including the curriculum. Our community embodies those values – they are not platitudes for us, but a way of life at Thomson House. Curiosity stems from the intellect and the necessity to explore, ask questions and find out more. Kindness is our behaviour management tool as well as helping us to look after our environment. Courage is the way we grow confidence and self-esteem - through serving our community, through performing on stage and through performing in competitive sport.
We offer a creative, broad and challenging curriculum which incorporates varied and exciting learning opportunities for the children. There is no room for mediocrity at Thomson House School – we have the highest of expectations and aim to excel in everything that we do. Music and the performing arts are particularly strong at the school – come and see one of our many performances.
Our website will give you a flavour of Thomson House School. However, if you really want to find out about the school, please do give the school a visit. Our children will be delighted to act as your tour guides and will give you a greater impression of life at Thomson House School than the website ever will!
